While staying at Bob's cousin's home we travelled to London from Canterbury on the Javelin rail service. At Ashford International it joins the HS1 Eurostar tracks to London then travels at 140 mph (225 kph) cutting the journey time by approx 45 mins halving the usual journey time. After we met up with Pauline and Paul in the City of London we went to St. Magnus the Martyr Church almost beside London Bridge and adjacent to the Great Fire of London Monument (1666). The church houses a model of Old London Bridge.
The model made in 1987 called "Old London Bridge Circa 1400" by: David T Aggett Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Plumbers is permanently on display at the back of the church. Amongst the many hundreds of "little people" one is dressed in 20th century clothing. The model is encased in perspex for its own safety hence the reflection in some of the photos. We went on to visit The Old Lady of Threadneedle Street (The Bank of England)
https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/ which houses a museum charting the history of the Bank and, of course, money!!!
