Castle Drogo is a country house near
Drewsteignton, Devon, England. It was built during the 1910’s and 1920’s for
Julius Drewe, businessman and founder of the
Home and Colonial Stores. The design was by architect
Edwin Lutyens, and is now a Grade I
listed building. Castle Drogo is famous for being the last castle built in England, and probably the last private house in the country built entirely of
granite.
