This was a trip made for Brenda's birthday.

Clifton Village is to the west of Bristol city centre. It was once a separate settlement but became attached to Bristol by continuous development during the Georgian era (1714 - 1837). The buildings are mostly 3 storey turned into flats (apartments). Sadly so many cars line both sides of the narrow streets with two way traffic - not easy.

The major attraction in Clifton Village is the Clifton Suspension bridge. Completed 5 years after the death of Isambard Kingdom Brunel when it opened in December 1864. It spans the Avon Gorge and River Avon Its span is 712 feet, and is 245feet above high water mark.

The Botanic Gardens are just on the edge of Clifton Village, sadly I have no idea what the plants/flowers are called!
